About Me

Greetings! My name is Gracie and I am the author of this wonderfully gay blog, The Modern Dyke. I created this site not only because I am a millennial floundering in America’s not-so-equal job economy who needs some extra money to save up for the overly-expensive price of higher education which is mandatory to earn at least a middle class income these days; but also because I’m gay as fuck. Lesbian, that is. Dykey dyke. Woman-lover. Cat-lover (in two different, beautiful ways). An avid watcher of Orange is the New Black, if you will. Don’t get me started on Vauseman.

I have known about my stark lesbianism since I was 13 years of age and admired Angelina Jolie a little bit too much than I should have. Let’s just say Maleficent was not the only horn-y one during that movie. So, during my teenage years (which I am still going through; proud class of 2020 here!) I have been a closeted gay teen in the yee-haw, bull riding, cowboy hat tipping, rodeoing, fish frying, queer-cursing Southern United States. Can you hear the rattle snakes rattling and the cows mooing?

It has not been easy, especially since I have attended a Christian school for my entire life. But, through it all, with the help of stan twitter and my girlfriend of over a year and a half, it’s not too bad being a flaming lesbian.

Okay, enough about me. The reason I’m here on this blog is to write about highly discussed topics involving LGBTQ+ matters, and maybe to vent about the newest videos uploaded by Rose and Rosie (will they ever have a fucking baby?). I will also write about my personal experiences and my personal life as well, including fashion, high school and college, and philosophy that helps me get through life and its various things.

So, grab your cat, plaid shirts, Vans, and your book for dummies on how not to get offended by dry humor, and subscribe to The Modern Dyke.
